Efficient use of solar power in the home
Are you at home during the day and do you prefer to use electrical appliances such as the washing machine, dishwasher or electric stove at lunchtime? Then you can cover a large part of your energy requirements with a solar system from greenmondi without storage and consume the electricity generated directly. This maximizes your self-consumption and helps to reduce your energy costs quite simply. However, if you are not at home during the day or only rarely at home, your PV system may only cover the base load of your household - the power consumption of appliances such as the fridge, internet router or standby devices that are constantly switched on. The majority of the energy generated is then fed into the electricity grid. The current feed-in tariff is 8.02 ct/kWh (as of August 2024), which is significantly lower than the price you pay for the electricity you purchase. The feed-in tariff is now falling by 1% every six months due to the expiry of the 2022 Easter package.
Powerful solar systems for the home
Solar systems with a feed-in power of more than 600/800 watts can generate significantly higher outputs and, depending on the installation options, are in the standard household range between 1 kW and 10 kW. These systems must be permanently installed in the meter box by a specialist electrical company. Electricity that is not immediately consumed is fed into the public grid and remunerated at the current EEG feed-in tariff of 8.02 ct/kWh. To further increase self-consumption, a battery storage system is a sensible addition to your solar system.
